“ Venetian Stroll ” is a painting which can be paired with the painting " Evening In Venice ", in that the couple are now heading towards the bridge in the mid-ground and perhaps looking forward to a pleasant evening meal at one of the many fabulous restaurants in Venice.
This is a quiet time of day just before the evening crowd come bursting into life.

“ This scene shows an atmospheric rainy day in Paris. The couple are walking past one of the many restaurants in this lovely city. In the midground and slightly to the right is a cylindrical billboard advertising a Parisian ballet. The bicycle on the right is parked up in the rain and presumably the cyclist has nipped into a bar-brasserie for a quick glass of beaujolais." Please note: "Paris 2" can be paired up with "Paris 1".

“ Paris 1” This scene is so typical of any boulevard in Paris, with the addition of the iconic Eiffel Tower in the background. The turmeric colour(S?) of the awnings and signs are again influencing the general feel of the painting. Also as a final statement, I decided to place the young lady in the foreground with the same Turmeric colour dress. She is walking towards the viewer - a rendezvous perhaps? Please note: "Paris 1" can be paired up with "Paris 2".

“New York 2” This painting is presented as a different take on Times Square. The high-rise iconic buildings have allowed me as an artist to place the blocks of turmeric colour in a way which creates a harmonious flow which I was seeking. I am hoping that the yellow N.Y. taxis give a final touch of realism to both of these N.Y. paintings. Please note: "New York 2" can be paired up with "New York 1".

“New York 1” Having spent some time in New York, I find that this particular style of painting lends itself to the city that doesn’t sleep. I have painted many New York scenes over many years. They range from sunny days to twilight and nocturnal paintings. Even though this is a murky, rainy day I have been able to introduce several carefully placed swatches of the turmeric yellow colour into the design. The lady on the right walks away from us as we wait to take our turn to step through the frame! Please note: "New York 1" can be paired up with "New York 2".

“ Venice “ , depicts an atmosphere of calm and serenity just after the rain. The Grand Canal is in the mid-ground with the ‘parked’ gondolas just peering above the quay side. The couple in the foreground are walking towards the Doge's Palace and ultimately the Bridge of Sighs, which is just a couple of minutes away. The woman has placed her hand on the man’s shoulder in a loving and intimate manner.

“ Venetian Backwater ” is a tranquil moment, with the shop lights just coming on. The high buildings on either side give a greater feeling of perspective as the gondola heads towards the distant bridge. The bridge in the foreground has a balcony type feel to it and is typical of many Venetian bridges. "

“ The Girl On The Balcony “ is a slight deviation from my usual scenic views of Venice. She is looking wistfully towards The Grand Canal with its passing gondola and distant buildings. The single glass of wine seems to suggest that she is enjoying some quiet ‘me time’.
