“ Paris 1” This scene is so typical of any boulevard in Paris, with the addition of the iconic Eiffel Tower in the background. The turmeric colour(S?) of the awnings and signs are again influencing the general feel of the painting. Also as a final statement, I decided to place the young lady in the foreground with the same Turmeric colour dress. She is walking towards the viewer - a rendezvous perhaps? Please note: "Paris 1" can be paired up with "Paris 2".

Paris & France Collection - Paris calls to me, Paris talks to me, Paris just IS. On many, many occasions I have been so lucky to work in this city of light. The Paris Metro has been responsible for my inner-city meanderings and I have lost count of the amount of sketches and paintings which this most beautiful city has inspired me to execute.

It cannot just be the ramblings of an artistic mind which at every (yes every) corner displays a scene of unparalleled quirky beauty and demands closer inspection. The cafés, patisseries, restaurants, boulengeries etc, with their white approves waiters deserve attention and the dappled light on the tree-lined avenues are a joy to behold. Yes-ok-I love Paris. The rich soil of provenance makes the region ideal for growing sunflowers and lavender. Painting is not always as relaxing as many people might think (deadlines etc), but there can't be many more relaxing situations than sitting in a field full of sunflowers or lavender with a glass of wine in one hand and a paintbrush in the other. These field seem to go on for ever and the fragrance drifting on the warm wind is like the wine, absolutely intoxicating.
