Gallipoli Gardens - Hand Signed Fine Art Print by E. Anthony Orme

I felt a bit of a fraud when I painted this scene, considering that the Gallipoli Gardens and memorial are a tribute to all the brave soldiers who fell during this conflict. It is such a beautiful garden though, that I just had to paint it and did so with the greatest respect for all those lost souls, with feelings of a massive debt of gratitude for their sacrifice. The gardens are annex to the regimental museum of The East Lancashire Fusiliers  on Moss St. You can clearly see the white monument in the middle ground with the Union Flag in full flourish. The sand coloured Landrover on the right will figure in greater detail in my next painting. These fabulous gardens are well used by anyone wishing to sit and reflect for a while. It is very humbling but also uplifting because of the beautiful flowers, bushes and lawned areas. Many office and shop workers from around the area come to the gardens to eat lunch in peace and tranquillity.

Bury Collection - Having spent the last 50 years living in and around the Bury area, I have, like many other people, seen vast changes in the landscape of this lovely town. It has been my greatest pleasure over the years to study, paint and sketch the people, monuments and important buildings of Bury town.
